[Blockchain today]GESIA platform, GESIA Chain testnet open announcement

[Blockchain Today — Reporter Jaemin Kim(김재민기자)] Gesia Platform announced the results of the test operation for the Gesia Chain testnet, which was launched on March 15, 2021.

Gesia Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 main net, launched on March 15th, has undergone various tests using web3, MetaMask, Remix, and other tools. It has received high evaluations from domestic and international blockchain technology companies and professionals.

In particular, Gesia Chain’s carbon offset voucher (FV, NFV) and NFT technologies have received proposals for joint technology usage from overseas technology companies, and preparations for contracts are underway, indicating high praise for the ideas and technical completeness.

Gesia Chain receives raw carbon offsets from carbon offset-holding companies, issues carbon offset vouchers in the form of vouchers, and allows distributors to purchase fragmented NFTs. This enables individuals and companies to purchase, donate, and invest in the desired amount of carbon offsets. Furthermore, Gesia Chain supports multiple chains, allowing the purchase, donation, and investment of NFT carbon offsets based on vouchers issued on any main net chain in Gesia Chain as well.

In particular, Gesia Chain integrates with Chainlink’s Operator Nodes (OP) to combine the verification of Chainlink and self-attestation of Gesia Chain, ensuring security and enabling ownership verification and transaction history validation of carbon offsets in a multi-blockchain environment.

While Gesia Chain’s consensus algorithm is based on Proof of Authority (PoA), it addresses the drawback of traditional PoA by allowing node addition without system interruption. This allows carbon-neutral pursuit companies to freely participate in the node ecosystem and support ecosystem expansion.

Currently, participating organizations as Gesia Chain node operators include Netmics, Hivelab, Hashus, Ynot cooperation(Showhale).

As the mainnet schedule is planned for July, node operators will be recruited starting from the end of June.

The Gesia Platform management system is scheduled to open to the public in July, and detailed technical information and testnet access information for Gesia Chain can be found on the Gesia Platform website.

Kim Ji-yong, the development leader of Gesia Platform, expressed his joy, stating, “Since May last year, developers from four countries have been working together to develop Gesia Chain. It’s exciting to receive recognition and proposals for technology sharing from overseas technology companies.”

Gesia Platform has been developing Gesia Chain to activate carbon emissions trading and carbon offset trading in collaboration with the Korea Forest Service and various domestic companies. In July, they plan to launch the Carbon Monster app, which will enable individuals to erase their carbon footprints through donation activities.
